Mathilda Chua is a Singapore based actor and writer. After discovering her love for acting in school, she moved to New York to attend New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, majoring in Drama where she studied at both the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and Stonestreet Studios under NYU's conservatory training program. She also holds a minor in Producing.
Following graduation, Mathilda worked in the New York Arts scene for several years. A fan of creating work herself, she has had her plays staged at the Midtown International Theatre Festival (Code Adam), BMCC's Writers-in-Performance Summit (Swipe Left) and worked with the Third Eye Theatre Company and AlphaNYC. Offstage, she has worked on various MFA short film thesis projects and appeared in projects for Pearson and Conde Nast. She has also emceed for various events including the Overseas Singaporean Unit's inaugural Pasar Singapura.
In the local scene, Mathilda has worked with various theatre companies such as The Necessary Stage and Ravindran Drama Group. She has also appeared on television in The Noose and Here's to Health. Her commercial credits include ads for Urban Company, Gov.sg and ICON+.
In her spare time she enjoys doing what most Singaporeans do, looking for good hawker centres, eating and arguing with her friends about where makes the best chicken rice. Mathilda is also a proud dog mom to her Bichon Frise, Iggy.
